Disclaimer: I Know the author.Reading through the book, peppered with a list of words from all across India with a large amount of "British" terms, makes you wonder, if it is an easy read to a common folk without access to a dictionary.
Starts well and runs around the west coast of the country and all down and then up all the way up the east coast. Keep up your appetite, there is a lot of references to the varied cuisine, and experiments that the author undertakes to write a few lines on them. A self proclaimed foodie, he could have filled in more information about the food unknown, but then, it is good to note that he does not refrain from describing - a pretty difficult task about something that needs to be tasted than written in words.
Profiling humans, is an art and sections shows a point of view of the author, and there is no specific "proof" that the profiling is in line and is good enough and does not have the intent or is it "Innuendo"? Not sure, however, A short book, but becomes a bit predictable, may be because of the fact that you know India, or you know the author.

This is a great book!!. Provides a great insight into the smaller town and villages of India, which is always neglected. Felt very nostalgic reading about the road trips. Like the comment on kundi!! I recommend this book to all to get a insight on rural india.
This book is brilliant ! It gave a great sense of the scale of India and the many different cultures,scenery, languages and food in a country that is so diverse! My mouth watered at some of the delights the author shared regarding the difference foods in different states....a very enjoyable read for anyone who loves exploring!
